NOTE THE VENUE CHANGE. Mark your calendar for a special literary event at Halifax Public Library (instead of Shaar Shalom) on Sunday, June 8, at 4:00 pm. Ayelet Tsabari, award-winning Israeli-Canadian author, will be reading from and discussing her debut novel, Songs for the Brokenhearted, in person. The book, which has won numerous awards, is a story about a young Yemeni-Israeli woman who learns of her mother’s secret romance in a dramatic journey through lost family stories, revealing the unbreakable bond between a mother and a daughter. Lynn Bessoudo, Halifax-based Jewish writer and communications specialist, will be joining us and moderating the discussion.
